Touchpaper is a new kind of creative marketing agency offering a blend of strategic nous with tactical get-up-and-go. We’re experts in digital marketing, social media, SEO and all that, but first and foremost we’re storytellers. We find creative ways to get you noticed for all the right reasons.

We’re not a PR agency, though we have a combined 40 years in the business. We’re not copywriters, though we’ve written more than a million words of copy. We’re not creatives, though we’ve delivered video and design projects against budgets large and small. We’re all these things and more.

Our clients span the tech, hospitality and property sectors. We’re helping them build their brand and break into new markets via cutting edge creative campaigns including content marketing, events, direct engagement and media relations.

  • Meet the Founders

    At H&K the hard-charging rookies soon had to be separated and James was packed off to the New York office while Simon was dispatched to Sydney. But oceans and millions of miles couldn’t stop this business bromance. And so it was that 17 years, four children and a couple of mortgages later, they bumped into each other while meeting clients at a large co-working space in London. The rest is history (and the co-working property business a major client).

    Throughout their career, Simon and James have always focussed on helping companies communicate more effectively - either direct to business and consumer audiences or via influencers like the media, analysts or bloggers.

    They have worked agency-side, running local and international PR programmes for the likes of IBM, Canon, Motorola, Eli Lilly, BT and Novell. They have also been the client, creating and delivering global marketing and communications programmes for multinational brands like Philips, 3Com and Ofcom, the UK media and telecoms regulator.

    They were at the vanguard of digital marketing, quick to realise the potential for multimedia content and social media to get a message across. They also understand the appeal of engaging directly and have led award-winning campaigns that spoke straight to the target audience.

    They have briefed national newspaper editors and held the line on countless TV and radio news shows. They have led major reputation recovery exercises in the full glare of the nation’s press.

    Simon is the creative hub of Touchpaper, channelling a previous career as Hollywood screenwriter and director. James is the business brain, having worked with several company founders and directors to make sure marketing always impacts positively on the bottom line.
